Job Title: Early Years Outdoor Practitioner - Level 3        

                     

Reports to: Team Leader and Senior Practitioner                          

Salary - £12.82 

Location: Kidderminster


Summary:

To work as part of The World Outside Team providing early learning and childcare in an outdoor setting to children aged 2 to 5 years and up to 12 years during school holidays.  To foster an environment that encourages each child’s development; continually deliver high standards of outdoor early learning and childcare provision to allow each child to reach their full potential, while also working with the wider family.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities to include:

​

  • Deliver quality early learning, childcare provision in the outdoors.

  •  

  • Take specific responsibility for a group of children, ensuring they have access to and participate in high quality early years provision.

  • Promote a happy, caring and welcoming atmosphere for children, parents, staff, volunteers and visitors.

  • Implement all The World Outside policies and procedures.

  • Work in partnership with parents, staff and other professionals.

  • Provide effective and regular feedback to parents.

  • Record and report on the work, progress and development of the children, including daily recording. Maintain portfolios, files and records, ensuring they are always up to date and accurate.

  • Plan quality activities and sessions in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage ensuring that the children’s developmental needs are central.

  • Contribute to the on-going development of the Early Years work including the development of the outdoor site, and continue to develop the ethos of outdoor learning in all the work of The World Outside team.

  • Actively and fully participate in self-assessment and review processes.

  • To liaise with prospective parents to arrange viewings and to provide them with a thorough and positive experience when they do view

  • Source and prepare materials for the delivery of sessions.

  • Undertake appropriate and agreed continuing professional development.

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of special nursery events.

  • Supervise, train and mentor apprentices as directed by the Team Leader and support and motivate other members of the team.

  • Support the Team Leader in their role and take on delegated responsibilities as and when required.

  • Represent the organisation at external meetings and events when delegated to do so by the Team Leader.

  • Carry out care, cleaning, maintenance and security of the nursery site and equipment.

  • occasions, participate in early learning & childcare events, other events, The World Outside activities and training outside standard working hours.

  •  To further the aims and objectives of The World Outside.

  • To undertake personal development through active participation in annual work reviews, supervision and identified training (internal or external) as required.

  •  To take part in other The World Outside activities where appropriate.

  •  To demonstrate commitment to The World Outside ethos, vision, values and work practices.

  • . Represent the World Outside, through effective communication with existing and potential parents, by understanding the parent’s requirements.

  • . If required assist with the preparation of material for marketing of the Kindergarten

  • . Other tasks and responsibilities appropriate to the remit will be expected as required.

  •  The World Outside may from time to time require you to undertake additional or other duties as necessary to meet the needs of The World Outside on a short-term basis e.g. holiday or sickness cover.
