Forest Fridays for Under Fives

Our Forest Fridays are relaxed, child-led Forest School sessions for young children and their accompanying adults, held in the beautiful woodland at Bodenham Arboretum.

​

The sessions follow the Forest School principles and ethos, giving children regular opportunities to spend time in the same woodland environment, build confidence and develop a meaningful connection with the natural world.

​

Each week is a little different. Activities may include natural crafts, den building, exploring the woods, searching for minibeasts, mud and sensory play, woodland games and cooking around the fire.

​

There is also plenty of time for children to follow their own interests, explore at their own pace and simply enjoy being outdoors.

Through play and exploration, Forest School can support children's physical development, confidence, independence, communication, creativity, social skills and emotional wellbeing.

And Forest Fridays aren't just for the children — they're a lovely opportunity for accompanying adults to slow down, spend time outdoors and meet other families too.
