A Woodland Adventure Awaits

Join The World Outside and Forestry England for a day of fire lighting, marshmallow toasting, and forest learning in the heart of the Wyre Forest. These fun and practical sessions are designed to help children (and grown-ups) safely learn basic bushcraft skills, all while enjoying the magic of the woodland.

This is a hands-on experience ideal for children and their adults who love being outdoors and want to learn together.

Who It's For

These sessions are suitable for children aged 6 to 12, accompanied by a supervising adult.
We can accept slightly younger children if they are confident and able to participate, but the session is not suitable for toddlers.

What You’ll Learn

  • How to safely collect tinder and kindling from the woodland

  • Understanding the Fire Triangle

  • Using a fire steel with instruction from our Forest School leaders

  • Toasting a marshmallow or slice of bread over your own fire

  • Safely extinguishing the fire and leaving no trace

Sessions are led by qualified Forest School leaders from The World Outside and follow our ethos of learner-led exploration, nature connection, and building confidence outdoors.
