A Woodland Adventure Awaits
Join The World Outside and Forestry England for a fun family woodland adventure in the heart of Wyre Forest.
In this hands-on outdoor session, children and their grown-ups will explore the forest together — building woodland dens, discovering fascinating mini beasts, and enjoying with a delicious campfire treat.
These relaxed and engaging sessions encourage curiosity, teamwork, and a deeper connection with nature while enjoying the magic of the woodland.
Perfect for families who love being outdoors and learning new skills together.

Who It's For
These sessions are suitable for children aged 5–12, accompanied by a supervising adult.
Slightly younger children may attend if they are confident and able to participate,

What You’ll Do
During the session families will:
• Work together to build a woodland den
• Go on a mini beast bug hunt and discover creatures living in the forest
• Cook a simple snack over the campfire (marshmallows or bread to toast)
Sessions are led by qualified Forest School leaders from The World Outside and follow our ethos of learner-led exploration, nature connection, and building confidence in the outdoors.

What to Bring and Wear
Please come dressed for woodland exploration:
• Long-sleeved top and long trousers (to protect arms and legs)
• Waterproof clothing
• Sturdy, closed-toe footwear
• Warm layers or sun protection depending on the weather
• Asthma inhaler if required
All materials will be provided, including toasting sticks and marshmallows or bread.
Toilets and café facilities are available at the Discovery Centre.
